Admission Requirements and Procedures
Applicants should have an Associate in Arts degree or its equivalent, and they should have compiled a minimum overall GPA of 2.5 and a minimum of 2.7 in English courses. Those who do not have an Associate in Arts degree but who have completed two years of college work may be admitted to the English major upon the program advisor's evaluation of the transcript.

*The senior writing project involves a major effort in some area of writing to be produced under the supervision of an advisor. The project could include a collection of short fiction, essays or critical pieces, a collection of poems, a segment of a novel or play, or some other project that reflected the student's best focused efforts in writing. The project would involve the student over a two-term period of the senior year.
