The Core Program at Bryn Athyn College develops foundational skills, knowledge, and disciplinary perspectives across a four-year education. Every major builds upon the Core program, and every course in the curriculum addresses Core goals directly or indirectly.
Our Core Program serves students in three ways: it helps them develop spiritual purpose; it teaches them to think broadly and critically from a number of perspectives; and it empowers them with specific skills so that they may act effectively in society and the workplaces of the 21st century.
These practical skills include information literacy, public presentation, quantitative reasoning, writing, second languages, and service learning. Ethics and technology are also crucial components of our Core Program. They are addressed in specific ways by each major, looking to appropriate applications for particular disciplines.
