Located in Bryn Athyn, the Pennypack Ecological Restoration Trust (P.E.R.T.) offers students excellent opportunities of biological field work
Students in the Biology Major program can register for Biology Internships (Bio 298 and 398). Credits and requirements are variable. Proposals must be approved by the head of the major. Students may apply for Biology 298 after one year and at least two 200- or 300-level biology courses, and for Biology 398 after two years of study and at least three 200- or 300-level biology courses and Chemistry 110/111.
Recent internships that Biology Major students have undertaken include researching retroviruses at Thomas Jefferson University and Fox Chase Cancer Center (click here to read more), working with medical staff at the Abington Hospital and interning at the Academy of Natural Sciences (click here to read more).
