Overview

Each year nearly 25% of the student body is given the opportunity to pursue an internship through Bryn Athyn College. Arrangements are tailored to individual students based on their career aspirations and their desire to get life experience working with people off-campus. Most students work for 200 hours and earn 3 college credits, although this varies. The majority of interns are paid for their time, especially if they work for a profitable company. However, some do their internships in exchange for other compensation, such as room and board.

Students are eligible for internships once they have completed two full-time terms at Bryn Athyn College and have earned a GPA of 2.7 or better.  Internships can be taken for credit in a number of different divisions: business, biology, education, English, history, psychology, and religion. In order to qualify for an internship, students must apply to the faculty member in charge of the subject area.  Otherwise students may earn elective credit, as is the case for most 100-level and service-oriented internships. The student is responsible for securing internship openings, but each subject head can offer coaching as well as help with finding contacts.

"Our interns are a major reason why our Bryn Athyn College campus is exploding with enthusiasm for learning and serving. They may leave our campus for a while, but when they come back, they become inspiring leaders."  Dr. Soni Werner, Director of Internships
