Student Government plays a leading role on campus by identifying and advocating for enhancements to the quality of student life, sponsoring events on campus, and facilitating communication between the student body, faculty, and administration. Members include a representative from each class (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior), each of the major student clubs and organizations on campus, and two members-at-large.

"StuGo" Members
Adam Cole - Vice-Chairperson, Treasurer, and Member-at-Large
"I am a Member-at-Large, which simply means I represent the student body at our Student Government. I am also Vice-Chairperson and Treasurer. As Vice-Chairperson I help the Chairperson with their duties. As treasurer I manage the funds of the Student Government and provide funds for organizations that have been approved for funds. I like Student Government because we are in collaboration with administrators and faculty about our school's future. I enjoy being updated and consulted on future plans. Although meetings can become tedious, it is a great pleasure to represent this school's future."
Alexis Asplundh - Secretary
"I am secretary on StuGo. It has been fun getting to know the upperclassmen. It has been intense work though (taking the minutes), and I have become very fast at typing. It is a good job and I have loved helping and contributing to the school."
Annika Fitzpatrick - Chairperson and Senior Class Rep.
"I'm Annika Fitzpatrick, the 2007-2008 senior class representative to StuGo and this year's StuGo chairperson. I cam to StuGo after serving two years as president of CARE, Bryn Athyn College's student-led service organization. Serving on student government is very rewarding, because though I've been involved in many campus events over the years, I had never had the opportunity to plan and coordinate them. Serving as chairperson is a great experience because I am able to work closely with the deans of the college, the members of StuGo, and the rest of the student body to try to ensure that everyone is on the same page with events, renovations, the campus network, and other issues. I also really enjoy the enthusiasm and hard work of all the members of StuGo! They make my job very easy; typically I just check in with people to make sure they're on track with projects and get everyone together to discuss new problems or coordinate larger projects. StuGo works hard to coordinate between all the student organizations, to address problems that the students bring to us and to coordinate fun events like coffeehouse, campus clean-up, and class trips. Any time you want or need something, try asking StuGo, because we're always looking for new ideas!"
Christopher A. Barber - Outing Club Rep.
"Hailing from Woodbury, New Jersey, he is a sophomore Religion major with plans for the Theological school, and secretly desires to have an understanding of Latin and to eventually teach it. He is currently serving his second term on Student Government. In his two terms Christopher has helped fund numerous student activities and has worked to improve the quality of the Social Center, putting it through a renovation that continues to impact the way that Social Center-goers experience events that are hosted there. This year, Christopher and Tony are again working on improving the Social Center, this time focusing their energy on the upstairs, which is in dire need of updates. Christopher was also in charge of the de-dustification of classroom chairs last year, but has since noticed the endeavor to be for naught, as the construction of late has succeeded in their un-de-dustification. He has plans to arrange for their re-de-dustification over the summer of this year. Christopher also holds a position on the school's Social Committee, through which he holds the Key to the Social Center as its manager."
Dale Zecher - IT Rep. and Sophomore Class Rep.
"My name is Dale Zecher. I am your Sophomore class representative. I make sure that sophomore's interests are taken into account, and that we are fairly represented in Student Government. In addition to this, I am also the IT Representative for the students at the college. This is my second year on StuGo, and I love it! It really doesn't make school that much harder, and it gives you a change to help make the college a better place. I have been grateful for the opportunity! I am always available to help my constituents, so please feel free to voice your concerns. I look forward to hearing from you!"
Dylan Glenn - Member-at-Large
"My position on StuGo is as Member-at-Large. The position is elected by all members of the student body and therefore my responsibility is to represent the entire student body. If, as a student, you have any questions or complaints, please find me or send me an email. I'm glad to help in any way I can. This year I also took on the project of founding and heading up a Bryn Athyn College Self Defense Club. This club is open to all students, so if you have any questions about the content or meeting times of the club, also contact me. On top of these other duties I am also a Student Government liaison to faculty meetings and I sit on the school's Judicial Council."
Geneva Echols - Freshman Class Rep. and Dining Hall Rep.
"As the Freshman Class Rep. and the Dining Hall Rep. it is my job to address the issues that any freshman student might have, and all the concerns that any student might have with the Dining Hall services. I have really enjoyed being these representatives and the opportunities that they give me to be useful to my fellow students. The tasks are not hard, they are well worth every effort I put into them. I would love to continue being on Student Government in future years and again be able to be there for all the great people who attend this college."
Nils Echols - CARE Rep.
"I am a second year college student, but a first year StuGo member. As the CARE Rep. I act as a medium between CARE and StuGo. If service requests are made to StuGo, I take it to CARE, and if CARE needs support, I communicate to StuGo. I also attend StuGo meetings and take part in the decisions and issues thereof. For CARE, I take part in the activities and meetings put on by the club and five support to the Co-Presidents as they run the club. I have greatly enjoyed my time I have had on StuGo. It is really good to be a part of the college's governmental life, and the experience I have had is priceless. Even a little glimpse like this at how an institution is run really impresses me at how much time and effort go into the institution's existence."
Rachel Alden - BACONBits Rep.
"I am the BACONBits Representative on StuGo. Like all StuGo members I am responsible for helping to run coffee house, taking attendance at chapel and orchestrating announcements, as well as undertaking one or more larger projects that benefit the college in some way. This is my second year on StuGo. Last year I was the Social Committee Representative on StuGo. Being on StuGo has been a great opportunity to be a part of decision making and has given me a better sense of how faculty, administration and students can come together to get things done."
Shilah Rose - Junior Class Rep.
"I am the Junior Class Representative, and this is my first year participating in Student Government. I am especially enjoying working on my project--designing and selling new Bryn Athyn College apparel. We have put out a winter line and are currently working on merchandise for the spring."
Tony Griffin - Social Committee Rep. and Sports Rep.
"Tony Griffin serves on the Social Committee, Student Government, is the Sports Representative, is an RA at Childs Hall, and is a History Major. He is in his third year at the college and would like to find an occupation with baseball."
Tumie Mphatse - ISO Rep.
"My name is Boitumelo Mphatse and most people, if not everyone, call me Tumie. I am an International Student Organization representative at the college and my job is to present to the student's government any issues that the international students might have. I think my job is very wonderful because it helps the international students communicate through me to the Student Government. I feel honored to have been elected by the ISO and I feel that it is very important for StuGo to know what is going on in ISO and for ISO to get an inside into any opinions that StuGo might have that effect ISO. I love being an ISO Rep. and there are no complaints. You know and love me.... Peace!!"
