The Philadelphia Area
Bryn Athyn College is located in the warm and thriving borough of Bryn Athyn, nestled in the suburbs north of Philadelphia. Philadelphia, the country’s sixth largest city, is easily accessible from Bryn Athyn by car, bus, or train.
History buffs love Philadelphia. Students can visit the National Constitution Center, the Liberty Bell, Independence Mall, and plenty of shopping and site seeing.
Philadelphia is a city rich with culture. The Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Franklin Institute, and the many other museums along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway offer student discounts. On the first Friday of each month, the art galleries in Old City are open late and free of charge. For a taste of the best Philadelphia cuisine, visit the Reading Terminal Market. And of course, Philadelphia sports are a big part of the Philly culture, from the Flyers through the winter months to the Phillies in the spring and summer.
Community Service Opportunities
Philadelphia is truly the city of brotherly love. If you’re interested in community service, you can volunteer at any of the many charitable organizations in the area. Bryn Athyn students regularly team up to cook at the Ronald McDonald House or build a house with the Philadelphia chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
