Our Affiliation with the New Church

Bryn Athyn College is a part of the Academy of the New Church, which was incorporated under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 1877. Two years later the Academy was authorized to confer degrees and diplomas.

Education at Bryn Athyn is enriched by the spiritual values and tenets of the New Church, all of which encourage the practical application of truth to life. It follows, then, that Bryn Athyn College students are encouraged to connect their deeply held spiritual beliefs to both their academic studies and to the practical aspects of their daily lives.

"Often teachers ask spiritual questions in class to get us thinking. Almost every syllabus has some spiritual aspect connected to it. It's nice to talk about religion in a class other than a religion course."
