Dr. Kristin King Selected as Interim President of Bryn Athyn College

The Board of Trustees strongly affirmed the nomination on July 7th of Dr. Kristin King as interim President of Bryn Athyn College. She took up her duties immediately.

Dr. King graduated from the Academy of the New Church Girls School in 1976, then earned a nursing degree from Gwynedd Mercy College and a Bachelor of Arts from the College of William and Mary. She was awarded the Draper Scholarship (Academic and Ambassadorial) for post-graduate work at Christ College, Cambridge, England. She earned a Master's and a PhD in English Literature from Boston University, where she taught before joining the faculty at Bryn Athyn College in 1995.

In addition to teaching as an Associate Professor of English and pursuing scholarship in Henry James studies, Dr. King has served the College in many administrative roles, including: Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, Director of the English Major & Writing Program, Chair of the Curriculum & Academic Policy Committee, and Head of the Humanities Division.

Vice Chancellor Eric Carswell describes Dr. King's recognized excellence as a teacher, administrator, and scholar, and her integrity, work ethic, and ability to provide strong leadership that also supports the roles and input of others.

Dr. King sees a promising future for the College as it makes good use of the tremendous talent and devotion within the institution and draws upon the skills, energy, and good will of all its stakeholders.
