The Bryn Athyn College Athletic Department unveiled its new athletic logo at a launch party on May 4. Excitement was felt in the air as students, faculty, staff, and supporters convened at the Brickman Center for the launch.
The logo design is the culmination of a process that began last December, when Dean of Students, Brian Henderson, and Director of Athletics, Matt Kennedy, initiated a plan to revamp the college's athletic program.
The process of developing the new logo involved extensive research and design, with the primary focus being the reaction of the various groups that make up the department’s core constituencies. The department’s second focus was to make the new logo fully representative of the full scale of emotions and power of the Bryn Athyn College mission.
Although the Athletic Department recognized the need to redesign the logo, it also sought to make sure that the reputation and visual brand identity remained clear. Therefore, the new logo is not a total departure from the old, but is in a sense a restructuring of a classic design.
With the full launch of the new logo comes a string of new requirements regarding how it will be used. Among them is the expectation that all uniforms, warm-up outfits, and practice gear will prominently display the new logo.
Along with the new logo, the Athletic Department also announced the launch of a new website: www.brynathynathletics.com. This website now serves as the home of Bryn Athyn Athletics, providing space for game stories, news, updates, schedules, rosters, directions, an athletic gear store, and much more.
