Bryn Athyn College enjoys being a part of the borough of Bryn Athyn, a warm and thriving community—and also a National Historic Landmark District—with roots that helped establish the New Church foundation of the Academy. The community takes pride in its educational and historic institutions and its many beautiful outdoor spaces. The community's ties to the College are tight—Bryn Athyn's neighbors enjoy events at Mitchell Performing Arts Center, Glencairn Museum and Bryn Athyn Cathedral. And, everyone enjoys access to the nearby Pennypack Ecological Restoration Trust with eight miles of public trails.
The country's sixth largest city—Philadelphia, "The City of Brotherly Love"—is easily accessible from Bryn Athyn by car, bus, or train.

Cultural Attractions
Philadelphia is a city rich with culture. The Philadelphia Museum of Art (www.philamuseum.org), the Franklin Institute (www.fi.edu), and the many other museums along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway offer student discounts. On the first Friday of each month, the art galleries in Old City are open late and free of charge. For a taste of the best Philadelphia cuisine, visit the Reading Terminal Market (www.readingterminalmarket.org). And if you're looking for authentic Philadelphia culture, go to a Phillies game!
Community Service Opportunities
Philadelphia is truly the city of brotherly love. If it's community service you're interested in, start at the first Ronald McDonald House (www.rmhc.org), or join a team of Bryn Athyn students in building a house with Philadelphia chapter of Habitat for Humanity (www.habitatphiladelphia.org), or spend an afternoon volunteering at any of the many charitable organizations that reach out locally or nationally.
See what Philly has to offer at www.gophila.com, the official visitor site for Greater Philadelphia.
If you prefer the small town feeling, Bryn Athyn is within easy distance of a number of cozy small Pennsylvania towns—Chestnut Hill, Newtown, Jenkintown, Doylestown, and New Hope all have shops, restaurants, and plenty of small town charm.
