History Interdisciplinary Program
The History Interdisciplinary Program allows students to take advantage of our rich history offerings while also applying their theories in another discipline.
A total of 130 credits is required for the BA degree. The senior research essay or project serves as a capstone. Students will work with the history program advisor to design their program.
Prerequisites:
One of the following:
- History 114: The Classical World
- History 115: The Medieval World
- History 117: The Contemporary World
History Requirements:
Three courses in one of the following areas of emphasis, including one course at the 300-level:
Ancient History:
- History 207: Ancient Mesopotamia
- History 208: Art and Culture of Ancient Egypt
- History 240: Ancient Israel
- History 310: Religion in Ancient Greece and Rome
Eighteenth Century Europe and Its Origins:
- History 215: Renaissance and Reformation
- History 216: The Making of Modern Europe, 1763–1918
- History 250/350: Swedenborg's Life and Times
- History 290: Social Movements
- History 315: Seminar in the Age of Enlightenment
American History:
- History 225: Colonial America, 1607–1763
- History 230: United States History, 1763–1877
- History 232: American Foreign Policy
- History 330: Twentieth Century American History Seminar
Non-Western History:
- History 209: Asia
- History 235: Africa: An Introduction to African History
