Financial assistance is available in many forms, and most students are eligible for one or more of the following types of assistance. An overview of available financial aid is found in more detail in Bryn Athyn College's Guide to Financial Aid (PDF).
For an estimate of your financial aid, use our Financial Aid Calculator.
All students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents and who wish to be considered for financial aid should file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The information provided in the application is used to calculate the applicant's Expected Family Contribution (EFC), and accordingly, the student's financial need.
Bryn Athyn College participates in Title IV federal financial aid programs. For information about federal financial aid, see www.studentaid.ed.gov.
Students should use the school identification code 003228 to designate Bryn Athyn College as an information recipient in the appropriate section of the form. Students who complete a FAFSA may be eligible for Federal Direct Student Loans, parent PLUS loans, and Pell grants.
For more information on federal student loans, visit www.studentloans.gov.
Institutional grants from Bryn Athyn College are available when federal financial aid does not fully meet the student's demonstrated financial need. FAFSA filers will automatically be considered for institutional grants; no additional application is needed.
International students should submit an International Student Certification of Finances (PDF) or an International Student Aid Application (PDF) to be considered for financial aid for 2012-2013.
Applications that are received late will still be considered, but grants will be awarded only in so far as funds are still available. Applications received more than two weeks after the first day of term may be considered if funds are available.
There are several non-need based grants available for students in special categories:
Some New Church societies offer private scholarships to students who are members of that congregation. Interested students should contact their society's treasurer.
All students may apply for part-time, on-campus employment, but priority for jobs is given to students with demonstrated financial need. Student workers are paid semi-monthly, and applications for student employment are available from the Financial Aid Office (267-502-6000). Students who are given on-campus jobs may arrange to pay a portion of their tuition and fees via an automatic payroll deduction over the course of the school year.
The Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) offers state grants to students who are legal residents of Pennsylvania. PHEAA determines eligibility based on the student's FAFSA. For more information, visit www.pheaa.org.
Tuition-remission eligible students must annually submit the Tuition Remision Form or download and submit the (PDF), in addition to completing the FAFSA and pursuing all available government grants before tuition remission will be applied.
As required by the Higher Education Opportunity Act, Bryn Athyn College has adopted a Code of Conduct (PDF) to describe our expectations of integrity while working with students and private lenders.
