Business Club Hosts Euan Wilson
The Bryn Athyn College Business club launched the 2013-14 year with a fascinating evening thanks to the sponsorship by the Cole Foundation and their Board members. The guest speaker was Euan Wilson, of the Socionomics Institute. It was held on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the beautiful Cairnwood Estate.
Guests included students, Cole Foundation Board members, Academy faculty, and community folks, who enjoyed both a dinner and the main speaker event. Writer and researcher, Euan Wilson, of the Socionomics Institute, discussed the new field of study called socionomics. He displayed how unconscious, shared, group emotion (our social mood) often creates changes in our behavior, and demonstrated how it explains trends in our history and society. Fascinating stuff for the students to think about with the community business members at the meeting. It is a growing field in psychology and economics, so students witnessed applications to careers and majors at BAC.
Euan’s work has been featured in Time Magazine, USA Today, The Futurist, and Scientific America so the Cole foundation and BAC Business Club was excited to bring him to campus.
