Athyn College Service Day 2008: Set Construction
Bryn
Athyn College Service Day is an annual event that takes
place at the beginning of each school year. During Service
Day students and faculty participate in various service
projects. This year’s Service Day, on August 26, 2008,
included a project to help with the construction of the
BAC ROCKS! 2008 – Creedence Clearwater and various
blues artists tribute – set that will be used for
the upcoming performances in the Mitchell Performing Arts
Center (MPAC).
The set, designed by MPAC manager Naomi Haus-Roth and Jenna
Synnestvedt, is inspired by a southern bayou, with cypress
trees, spanish moss, docks and other props (including life-size
models of swamp animals build by Jenna and Naomi). Under
the supervision of Naomi and Jenna students and faculty
began to work on different pieces of the set. Below are
photos from the Service Day construction of the set.

The
set will be completed in Early October. Check back for more
photos!
