The Outing Club is a student organization dedicated to planning off-campus adventures.
Our ideal location in the suburbs of Philadelphia provides a plethora of destinations for day trips, evening outings, and weekend adventures. Like all Bryn Athyn College clubs, Outing Club is student led, so outings are designed around student interest and change month-to-month and year-to-year.
The greater Philadelphia area provides a wealth of locations for day trips. A Saturday might be spent soaking up the sun at the Jersey Shore, sightseeing in New York City, museum-hopping in downtown Philadelphia, or enjoying the fall foliage at Jim Thorpe. Day trips often include shopping adventures at the King of Prussia Mall, trips to amusement parks such as Six Flags Great Adventure or Dorney Park, or a rafting adventure down the Delaware River.
Evening outings with the Outing Club take a number of forms. On the first friday of the month, students often trek to Old City Philadelphia for First Friday art gallery openings and food. Phillies baseball games are popular in early fall and late spring. And sometimes, an evening outing can be as simple as a dinner out at one of the many restaurants in the nearby area.
Whether the trip is a history adventure filled with museum visits and historic tours or a ski trip focusing on downhill excitement and evenings spent around the fire with a cup of hot cocoa, Outing Club adventures are designed to build community among Bryn Athyn College students, while promoting healthy, good-natured (and sometimes educational) fun.
