The Doering Health Clinic is located on the lower level of the ANCSS Dining Hall—2800 Buck Road, Bryn Athyn PA 19009. All students are eligible for routine care for illness or injury through the Clinic. We work closely with a broad network of nearby hospitals and specialists to help students obtain care that is outside of the realm of the Clinic services.
A nurse is available at the Doering Clinic Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 9 PM. Nurses are also on-call after hours and on weekends through our main phone line: 267-502-4582.
The college physician, Dr. Bruce Morrison, is available Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:30-8:00 AM. No appointment is needed, but calling ahead is helpful. Dr. Morrison also sees students in his office, if needed, at times that he is not present on campus.
Full time students are required to have health insurance during enrollment in the college. Students from outside the immediate area are urged to contact your insurance benefits administrator to learn how your insurance covers while you are in college. The college offers a policy that can be purchased through the Doering Clinic to satisfy this requirement. Call our main phone – 267-502-4582 – for further information.
International students are automatically enrolled in the college-sponsored insurance plan, and are given support for other health care needs, including immunization catch up, etc. All students are urged to obtain as many services as possible at home to avoid incurring additional expense at school.
Counseling services at Bryn Athyn College are designed to promote the academic, personal, and social growth of students. The college years are times of accelerated growth, significant challenges and considerable stress. It is normal, even expected that students might encounter difficult or stressful events. However, when students use the resources available to them, there is a much greater chance of success and overall well-being. Counseling services are available to Bryn Athyn undergraduate students during the academic calendar year.
Students may contact the on-campus counselor, Dr. Regan Lee-Kin, psychologist, directly for appointments at 267.502.2949, or by email at Regan.Lee-Kin@brynathyn.edu.
Dr. Lee-Kin’s office is located in Pendleton Hall, office number 119. She will see students for 5 sessions, free of charge. Her days and times on –campus are Mondays 10a.m. -3:00p.m., and Thursdays from 2:30-7:30p.m. Please contact the Dean of Students (267)502-2551 in any event of an emergency as the counselor is primarily available only during her ten scheduled hours per week. Students in need of long term support may be referred to an appropriate community provider. Dr. Lee-Kin will provide a list of possible off-campus providers in the surrounding area for students to access. Off-campus counseling services need to be paid for from either health insurance or out-of-pocket payments. Please do not hesitate to contact Kiri Rogers, Dean of Students, at (267)502-2551 for any questions about the counseling program.
