Residence Life Staff

At Bryn Athyn College, our residence life staff are dedicated to providing safe and supportive living environments for our students. Our campus life supports our mission to enhance students moral and civil lives, so our residence life staff encourage moral and kind behavior in all of residence life.

  • Jennifer G. Lindsay
    Director of Residence Life and Grant Hall

    BA, Roanoke College

    Jenny Lindsay serves as the Director of Residence Life at Bryn Athyn College and as Director of Grant Hall, our women's dormitory. Jenny is also Bryn Athyn College's Campus Visit Coordinator. She grew up in the Bryn Athyn community and attended Bryn Athyn College. Of her experience at Bryn Athyn she says, "I found that living in the residence halls while I was a student was one of the most rewarding experiences in my college career, and I’m glad to be involved in residence life again as a member of the staff." After two years at Bryn Athyn, Jenny went on to graduate from Roanoke College in Salem, VA with a BA in Psychology. She returned to Bryn Athyn College, "To give back to the community that was so meaningful to me, and I have loved the experience."

  • Dr. Fredrik A. Bryntesson
    Director of Childs Hall

    BA, Bryn Athyn College, BSc, University of Greenwich, PhD, University of London

    A native Swede, Dr. Bryntesson completed his military service in Sweden before enrolling at Bryn Athyn College in 1990. As a college student he served as an RA in Childs Hall while majoring in biology and history. After graduating from Bryn Athyn College, he lived in the UK where he earned a doctoral degree in molecular biology. In 2001 he returned to teach biology at Bryn Athyn College, fulfilling an ambition inspired by his college days. While his main field is molecular biology, he also teaches microbiology, physiology, and introductory biology. He loves working in a New Church environment, both in the classroom and in Childs Hall, where he applies the religion he loves to his subject and to his life. Dr. Bryntesson has served as director of Childs Hall since 2004 after serving as the assistant director from 2001 to 2003.

  • Cheryl B. Cooper
    Director of Suites and Cottages

    BA, Bryn Athyn College, MEd, Arcadia University

    After growing up in Bryn Athyn, Cheryl earned her undergraduate degree in English and then moved to California to teach in an elementary school and to experience life on the West Coast. In 2006 she returned to teach at the ANC Secondary Schools while completing her masters in Literacy Studies. In addition to loving teaching, Cheryl also enjoys coaching high school volleyball and lacrosse. She serves as Director for the Residence Cottages, which house mostly juniors and seniors and Residence Suites, which house sophomores and juniors in apartment-style suites.

Residence Life Staff

Our Residence Halls, Grant Hall and Childs Hall, are each managed by a residence hall director assisted by four student Resident Assistants (RAs). The Residence Suites and Residence Cottages are staffed by RAs, overseen by a Director of Suites and Cottages. Our Director of Residence Life oversees all student housing, assisting residence directors as needed.
