The Retreat

The Retreat is a unique part of this college not seen on most campuses. A sanctuary hidden in the woods with a cottage surrounded by three ponds and small spring feed waterfall. Not open to public the Retreat is available to students for walks and just to get away for a little while maybe study by the pond or enjoy the borough’s best sunsets. Planned events include college picnics, betrothals, small weddings, campfires and sunset services.

Built around 1925 by Raymond Pitcairn for his beloved wife Mildred as place for her to get away, Mildred’s Retreat is still the official name and the place is still a timeless retreat.
