Bryn Athyn College raised $1,315 and collected food items for Philabundance, a local non-profit organization working to end hunger. The monetary contribution exceeded the original $1,000 goal thanks to the generosity of the College’s students, faculty, staff, and friends. The drive concluded at the Thanksgiving Convocation, wherein College Chaplain Rev. Coleman Glenn spoke about the importance of sharing the gifts God has given us.

This initiative is part of BAC’s overall goal of helping students actively explore their religion and spirituality, of which service to others is a driving principle. Throughout the year, students and staff coordinate opportunities to help meet the needs of others in a variety of ways.

“Charity means love towards the neighbor and compassion, for anyone who loves their neighbor as themself also has as much compassion for them in their suffering as they do for themself in their own (Swedenborg, Secrets of Heaven 351)

For the Christmas season, Bryn Athyn's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is coordinating a Toys for Tots drive at select basketball and ice hockey games.
