Program Description

Rosemont’s Counseling Psychology Program develops exceptional clinical skills and the specialized knowledge to enable students to work in diverse settings and with a variety of populations. Courses are based on a combination of theory and experiential opportunities which provide a deep and holistic view of the many different facets of counseling. The faculty are successful, current practitioners, and recognized experts in their fields.

The 60-credit Master’s degree fully prepares students for professional employment, and fulfills the educational requirements needed for licensure in the state of Pennsylvania. Students are eligible to take the National Counselors Exam immediately upon graduation. The College’s 700-hour required internship and seminar component is designed for students to feel academically and professionally ready to step right into clinically based employment.

Many of our students use their internship and/or practicum sites to further explore areas of interest such as school guidance, in-patient mental health and drug/alcohol treatment, community mental health counseling, victim and/or offender treatment, veteran services, and many other areas.
